The Greenpoint Williamsburg Youth Soccer League grew from a casual weekend pick-up game and was founded by people in the neighborhood just like you. It is still, and always will be, entirely volunteer-run. All the administrators, the Board members, the hard-working coaches, the fearless Referees, the people lining the fields before the games, putting up and taking down the goalposts - they're all just people pitching in to make something great for our kids.
So, we are all about volunteers and volunteering. We expect every parent/guardian to participate in making the League happen in some capacity and we have got a zillion jobs to cover!

If you would like to coach or referee, you must be certified.

safe! To protect you and give our kids the best and most safe experience possible, you must take the AYSO Safe Haven course and you must get certified at the age level you are coaching and/or refereeing. We understand that this is an additional commitment of time so we've scoured the NYC regions to find alternative times and places you can get this training. Check here for upcoming courses. Training is not optional.

One of the most important aspects of our league is the training and certification of all the volunteers who have interact with our children. It's important because it ensures that our kids are getting the best possible mentorship and instruction and, more importantly, it protects our volunteers from liability.
We need an organized, enthusiastic person to coordinate the process of getting our volunteers trained and certified. This job is active all year but requires very little "face-time". It involves keeping track of the status of volunteers' training and scheduling the appropriate classes to get volunteers trained.
One of the most vital aspects of our league is the training and certification of all our volunteers.
